From Burnout to Connection: My Journey with Chan Meditation

As a full-time physician and mom of two, I hit a wall in 2021. I was completely burned out, navigating a child with post-pandemic anxiety and another entering the emotional preteen years. I was desperate for change.
That’s when I started practicing Chan meditation.
The shift began within me: I felt recharged, more energetic, and less reactive. But the real transformation happened at home. As I found my charger to regain the bliss, I gained the patience my boys needed. Because I am no longer haunted by the “anxiety of failure,” I can finally let my kids make mistakes.
In return, they’ve become more secure, confident, and kind. I recently took my 15-year-old on a medical mission trip and was in awe of his resilience and heart. I’m so grateful to Chan for not only healing my burnout but completely transforming my relationship with my children.
